THE BOARD

We aren't in this alone. The Board is a governing body responsible for guiding and guarding big picture vision and mission of the church. They serve as accountability for theology and the spiritual direction and health of Kindred staff, voting members of policies and directional decisions, and pray consistently for the church body as a whole.

Bob Bush

Bob is a technology executive, and he and his wife Val have been in ministry for almost 37 years. They have 4 kids, Rob, Emma, Molly and Lily and 2 children-in-law, Kiffani and Graham. Bob and Val lived in Orlando for 7 years which established their Disney fandom, although some say it’s gone too far. They also enjoy working their garden, and whipping up amazing meals with their kids. Bob’s family has been Bronco season ticket holders since 1965, so you know where he will be on a given fall Sunday. Bob enjoys the authenticity and family feel of Kindred and is honored to serving the church as it continues to pursue Jesus and help make Him known to others.

GARY WILLIAMS

Gary is responsible for the oversight, accounting, and reporting of church funds in addition to keeping minutes of the board of directors. In his professional career, he works as a CFO. Gary was raised in Phoenix and is an alumni of CSU. He's been married 32 years to his wife, Liz, and raised two girls who now live in Colorado and California. Gary has been known to change his look over the years, so you never quite know what to expect. He still dreams of being a ski instructor or at the very least a ski bum. He is eager to see God continue to work through the community of believers at Kindred Church.

BEN MENDOZA

Ben works as a physician in the community. He and his wife Jordan have three beautiful daughters, Molly, Gabby, and Charlotte! Some argue he is overzealous about Colorado sports teams, and it's a fun source of contention between him and Zack! In a time of division and isolation, he believes Kindred's emphasis of connection, selflessness, and humility are a path forward. He is thrilled to support Kindred as it brings hope and joy through Jesus into the lives of others.

LARA VEVE

Lara has been in ministry in some capacity for 25 years. She loves getting to sing as a worship volunteer and has cherished her time serving and leading on church staff in kids ministry, adult community, and groups. Lara has been married to her husband, Eric, for 21 years. They are parents to three amazing adult humans. Sunshine, high heels, chocolate and gettin’ jiggy when the right beat drops, are a few of her favorite things. Her favorite part of belonging to a church community is the opportunity to observe life transformation as people meet Jesus and realize they are free, forgiven, and seen worthy and valuable. Lara believes our Safe, Sound, Selfless, and Sincere values are an incredible guide towards knowing and growing in relationship with Jesus.

CRYSTAL YEPEZ

Crystal is a part of the Resource and Development Team as a Major Gifts Officer for the American Indian College Fund. She loves this role and the wonderful opportunity to learn about the history and diversity of Indigenous communities and to do her part to strengthen pathways for Native students across the country. Crystal was born in Colorado and loves the western mountains where she grew up. She is married to Elio Yepez, a New Yorker who has converted her into a New York Jets fan. Their lives are enriched by raising two teenagers, Sophia and David. Kindred has been an amazing, authentic community for her family, a safe place where we’re better together and we work towards strengthening our connection and relationship with Jesus and each other. She is humbled to serve on the board and looks forward to meeting and connecting with more of the Kindred community.

evan schek

Evan is a Colorado native born and raised in Erie, and works as a Realtor across the Denver Metro Area. After earning a degree in Civil Engineering and meeting his wife, Anna, at Montana State University (Go Cats!), he returned home to be close to family and pursue his passion for real estate. In his spare time, you can find him around town searching for the best restaurants or in the mountains camping, fly fishing, and hiking with Anna and their four-legged companion, Finn. Evan loves serving the families of Kindred in kids ministry and looks forward each week to the authenticity and genuine kindness you can feel as soon as you walk through Kindred’s doors.
